I had no idea what I was getting into when I took English 101 and was assigned a bunch of essays from late 20th century radical feminists and Marxists. No classic literature was assigned in that class, and "feminism" and "Marxism" did not appear in the course title. I now send my kids to a private, classical education Latin school. They are well on their way to the education that I wished I had.
